2. Applicable Law
This Privacy Policy, and our handling of your personal data, is governed by the laws of India, including:
- The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA)
- The Information Technology Act, 2000 (as amended in 2008)
- The Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011
If you believe we have not handled your personal data properly, you can raise it with us directly first (see Section 13, Grievance Officer, below). If the matter remains unresolved, you may escalate it to the Data Protection Board of India.
3. How We Collect Your Data
We collect personal data only when you choose to give it to us, through:
- The enquiry form on this website
- An email you send us directly
- A WhatsApp message you send us, if you have been in touch with us that way
We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising, we do not use Google Analytics or any tracking pixels, and we do not collect data passively or without you taking a deliberate action. The only information we receive is what you choose to send us.
4. What Data We Collect
Through the enquiry form, we collect:
- First name — to address you personally in our response
- Email address — to reply to your enquiry
- Enquiry topic — the area of guidance you selected from the dropdown
- Consent record — a record that you agreed to this policy and consented to being contacted
If you write to us directly by email or WhatsApp instead, we only see what you choose to include — typically your name, your contact details, and the content of your message.
We do not collect, through this website:
- Your date, time, or place of birth — this is only ever discussed verbally, during a consultation, and only if a reading requires it
- Payment information
- Device data or IP addresses
- Cookies or tracking data
5. How We Use Your Data
We use the information you provide solely to:
- Respond to your consultation enquiry
- Arrange and conduct an astrology consultation
- Follow up on a previous consultation, if needed
We never use your data for profiling or automated decision-making, and we will never sell, rent, or share it with third parties for marketing purposes. We will not use it for marketing to you without your explicit consent.
6. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your data on the basis of your consent, as provided for under the DPDPA. You give this consent by ticking the checkbox on our enquiry form, or by voluntarily writing to us by email or WhatsApp. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at — withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
7. How Long We Keep Your Data
We retain email, WhatsApp, and enquiry-form correspondence for a maximum of 12 months after your last contact with us, after which it is permanently deleted. If you become a client, consultation notes are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted. We do not store your data on any bulk email or marketing platform.
8. Your Rights Under the DPDPA
As a Data Principal under the DPDPA, you have the right to:
- Access — ask us what personal data we hold about you, by emailing us; we will confirm what we hold and why
- Correction — ask us to correct or complete inaccurate personal data, by emailing us with the correction
- Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data, by emailing us; we will delete it unless we are required to keep it for a legal reason
- Grievance redressal — raise any concern about how we've handled your data with us directly first; if it isn't resolved to your satisfaction, you may escalate it to the Data Protection Board of India

9. International Visitors
MindfulAstro is based in India and our services are governed by Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. If you are reaching out from another country — whether from the UK, US, or elsewhere — you do so on this basis. We handle all personal data with the same care regardless of where you are located.
We do not actively market to residents of any specific country outside India. If you have found us and chosen to get in touch, we are glad you did — and your information will be treated with the same respect as that of any other visitor.
10. Third-Party Services
The only third parties involved in handling your data are:
- Formspree (formspree.io) — our enquiry-form processor. When you submit the form, your data passes through Formspree's servers before being delivered to us by email. See their Privacy Policy.
- WhatsApp (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — if you choose to message us on WhatsApp, that conversation is also subject to WhatsApp's own Privacy Policy.
- Email providers — your own email provider and ours handle the transmission of any email you send us. We do not use a bulk email or marketing platform.
- Fonts — all typefaces used on this site are self-hosted. No request is made to Google Fonts or any external font service.
We do not share your data with any other third party.
11. Cookies
This website does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. The only browser storage used is technical session state required for form functionality.
12. Security
- This website is served entirely over HTTPS
- Enquiry-form submissions are transmitted to Formspree over HTTPS
- Our contact email address is not written in plain text in the page's HTML — it is assembled by the browser to make it harder for automated bots to harvest
- Consultation notes are stored securely and are never placed on a public server
